Description: Unilever and Mastercard are replacing Captcha codes with a brand message that has to be typed in instead of the normal randomised words. “MasterCard Anywhere” is the code on more than 6,000 sites, while Unilever is pushing a “lasts just as long” message for its compressed deodorant cans. The brands are only required to pay for messages that have been read and typed correctly. Apparently engagement rates often exceed 40% and Unilever’s campaign has resulted in an awareness lift of 151% and a click-through rate of 3.62%. Genius.
